The partnership between our two companies aims to help homelessness and housing options services across the UK to seamlessly introduce insurance based incentives into frontline services.
Coversure Insurance policies are uniquely placed to help:
- Manage the effects of the LHA changes
- Significantly reduce Homelessness Grant expenditure
- Deliver the 'Good Practice Guidance' outlined in the National Homelessness Advice Service (NHAS) Toolkit (May 2011 version)
- Increase supply of PRS accommodation for landlord incentive schemes or self-funding 'Social Lettings Agency Models'
- Encourage membership of both national and regional accreditation schemes

So why is Coversure's Housing Benefit Insurance unique?
In contrast to all other landlord insurance products on the market, which effectively exclude tenant's claiming welfare benenfits, Coversure's policy wording is in line with homelessness and housing benefit legislation currently being used by every frontline housing options service throughout the UK.
With Coversure Insurance a tenant is not required to pass a rigorous referencing process and does not require a guarantor, rent in advance or a deposit. A County Court Judgment (CCJ) check will not even be required if the tenant's housing benefits are paid direct to the landlord.
These unique policies are only available through Coversure's Kennington branch.

Rent Guarantee and Legal Protection Insurance
A unique policy that provides the landlord with protection should a tenant default on rental payments. The policy will, provided a claim has been accepted, pay rental income and full costs of evicting the tenant.

Landlords Contents Insurance
A unique policy that provides the landlord with protection against standard insured perils. The policy provides cover for up to £5000 against theft or malicious damage by the tenant and includes £2500 cover for carpets, white goods and curtains.

A bespoke policy that includes an element of both buildings and landlord contents insurance under a block scheme. The policy is designed to remove the need for a local authority to refer to the landlord's main building policy when making minor insurance claims.
